    Saudi Arabia offers $30 million aid to Afghanistan Humanitarian Trust Fund

    Saudi Arabia has announced a grant worth $30 million to support the Afghanistan Humanitarian Trust Fund (AHTF), which operates under the umbrella of the Islamic Development Fund (IDF) and in coordination with the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC). Through King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre (KSrelief) and the Saudi Fund for Development (SFD), the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia continues its humanitarian and relief efforts.

    Saudi Arabia offers $30 million aid to Afghanistan Humanitarian Trust FundThis grant is aimed at alleviating Afghan suffering and limiting the risks of a deterioration of critical humanitarian conditions and economic collapse in Afghanistan. This might affect regional and international peace and stability. Attending the signing ceremony were Saudi Arabia’s Permanent Representative to the OIC, Dr. Saleh bin Hamad Al-Suhaibani, the OIC’s Special Envoy for Afghanistan Tariq Ali Al-Bakheet, and the Director of the Afghanistan Humanitarian Trust Fund Muhammad Al-Saati. KSA continues to offer the Afghan brotherly people air and land aid bridges and support for numerous projects with a cost exceeding SAR 1 billion, as part and parcel of its responsibility and role in ensuring security and prosperity to Afghanistan and its people.
