    India invites French aircraft maker SAFRAN to collaborate with India

    A high-level delegation from French aircraft engine maker Safran Group, led by its CEO Olivier Andries, met with Indian Defence Minister Rajnath Singh today. Among the leading original equipment manufacturers of civil and fighter aircraft engines, Safran manufactures advanced engines. Safran’s CEO briefed the Defence Minister about their plans to set up Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) facilities in India during their meeting. Rajnath Singh was also briefed on Safran Aircraft Engines and Safran Electrical & Power India Private Limited in Hyderabad and Safran-HAL Aircraft Engines as a joint venture in Bengaluru. Hyderabad’s MRO facility will produce parts and components for advanced aircraft engines and will create several highly skilled jobs.

    India invites French aircraft maker SAFRAN to collaborate with IndiaIndia’s Defence Minister emphasized the importance of the strategic partnership with France. The newly opened facilities in Hyderabad and Bengaluru were welcomed by him. As part of the government’s Make in India, Make for the World and Aatmanirbhar Bharat initiatives, he invited Safran to co-develop and co-produce more projects in India. According to him, India is a big market, and Safran can take advantage of its cost advantages and the availability of trained manpower to capitalize on its competitive advantages. It was Mr. Singh’s contention that both countries can contribute to each other’s capability development.
