    Oman participates in a meeting of the GCC Red Crescent Associations

    The Sultanate of Oman recently took part in the 18th meeting of GCC Heads of Red Crescent Associations, which was held in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA). Khalifa Said Al Abri, GCC Assistant Secretary General for Economic and Development Affairs, represented Oman during the meeting.

    Oman participates in a meeting of the GCC Red Crescent AssociationsThe agenda of the meeting covered a wide range of topics, including the development of mechanisms for joint action and boosting cooperation in humanitarian and relief aid. This was among other topics. The committee approved the bid from the Saudi Red Crescent Authority to organize the third Gulf Forum for Voluntary Work in December 2022 in Saudi Arabia. The forum will be held for two days under the theme Volunteering is Life.

    The committee was unanimous in reiterating the need to strengthen the existing strategic partnerships with brotherly and friendly countries, including Jordan, Morocco, Iraq, and Sudan. The committee also encouraged humanitarian cooperation with other countries, especially during times of crisis and natural disasters.
