As part of its marketing campaign, Qatar Tourism hopes to attract markets including India and China for major events such as the Doha Jewellery and Watches Exhibition (DJWE), to be held from May 9 to 13 at the Doha Exhibition and Convention Centre. This is the longest-running watch and jewellery event in the region, attracting exhibitors and visitors from all over the world. It is the only B2C show of its kind in the Middle East, connecting brands with customers directly.

Qatar Tourism targets major markets like India and China for key events“The main tourists to Qatar come from India and Saudi Arabia, and they are our main target audiences,” Sheikha Hessa al-Thani, Head of Marketing and Planning Department at Qatar Tourism, said at a recent roundtable discussion with the media. Qatar Tourism also anticipates visitors from GCC markets including Kuwait and Saudi Arabia – where a campaign for DJWE 2022 has been launched.

The 18th edition of DJWE’s main campaign celebrity is Bollywood superstar Alia Bhatt, the official revealed. More than 500 brands from over 10 countries will exhibit across 30,000 sqm in two pavilions: an Indian pavilion with 18 exhibitors and a Turkish pavilion with eight exhibitors. Sheikha Hessa said the DJWE will follow all of the Ministry of Public Health’s COVID-19 precautionary measures during the five-day event.
